We always stop at Horseman's Haven for my favorite green chile's in Santa Fe. It's located next to a gas station on the outskirts of town. You may recognize it from Anthony Bourdain's visit on Part's Unknown. I try the chile's at every restaurant I go in Santa Fe and these have been the best flavor yet.
If you've never been to Georgia O'Keeffe museum, this is a must. I was familiar with her work but it was great to see the paintings in person while in New Mexico. When you take a look around you when you step outside you can see her inspiration all around.
Another must is the Ten Thousand Waves spa. The grounds are beautiful and the "master" massage is the perfect thing to get you right during your road trip. Take your girl, she will love you for it.
The spa also has a restaurant attached to it called Izanami. They serve japanese izakaya. I tried the ramen and it was perfect. The broth was beef based and very light and tasty. The chocolate mousse with popcorn flavored ice cream was an amazing midday desert.
If you need a night cap stop off at the Hotel St. Francis. They have a bar called Secreto that is one of the first and only bars in Santa Fe to embrace mixology. Order the "Burned Sage Margarita."
