Last night, at my Wednesday party at Warwick, I got the chance to spin a set with Mix Master Mike. I started DJing in 1998 and this guy was what I aspired to be at the time. I quickly figured out that he was a one of a kind and that no matter how many years i Dj'd for I wouldn't be on his level. It was mind blowing last night to hang with him and actually play a set with him. He was humble and cool as hell. In this business you cross paths with a lot of artists and he was probably at the top of the list of being a good dude. Below is a clip of my favorite mixtape of all time that i actually used to have on cassette. Thanks Mike for the continued inspiration.
Lil Yachty comes through with the album cover of the year.
"Good Times" was one of my favorite songs of last year and I still have not gotten over how GREAT a record it is. Here's a clip of Jamie XX and Young Thug performing an impromptu version of it at Jamie's Boiler Room set in NY. Enjoy!
There is no official release date for the Off -White x Air Jordan 1 collab but we do know they will retail for $350 if you can get your hands on a pair. They will come with alternate lime green laces. They are a "deconstructed" take on the original Air Jordan 1. They also sport a hidden "85" imprinted on the floppy ankle collar.
Currently my favorite pair of sunglasses that I own are the Illesteva "Mykonos." They are reminiscent of the Ray-Ban "Round" except with some extra flavor. they are around $220 so you don't have to be devastated WHEN you lose them. Enjoy!
The Levi's suede jacket can be one of the most versatile pieces in your closet. It goes with almost anything and it can be dressed up or worn casually. Pair it with a white or black t-shirt and blue jeans and you can wear the same thing everyday and still get compliments. The suede works for both the trucker jacket and the bomber.
Hedi Slimane might be out at Saint Laurent but they continue to impress. This is one of my favorite shirts from the new collection. Take a look.
The look of the moment that I firmly support is the tucked in shirt. Of Course it was a big trend in the 90s. Lots of current trends people are stealing from the 90s should actually STAY in the 90s but this one is here to stay. It looks great and it will separate you from every one else in the room. Don't be afraid and try it out the next dinner or bar you hit up.
